Object Description
Pair of four legged jointed wooden antique stools with cabriole legs and carved decoration. This pair of stools has faded and worn paint and what is sometimes described as shabby chic. Regardless of the description, these two stools have a charm about them, they are worn enough to have achieved a good decorative look without being over worn. In addition they have some very interesting construction, underneath they are properly jointed for strength and the rails underneath have been finished with a curved chisel to give the impression that they are from the 17th century. This is sometimes called rustication, although that is most commonly applied to rusticated stonework. The webbing is in good order, but as usual the fabric needs to be changed.
