Object Description
Each candleholder finely detailed to the centre with an image of playing cards to one side and crest on the reverses, each image contained within a gilt circle, further enhanced with gilt pattern work and a pink ribbon, all set within heart shaped gilt borders and on a white ground; surmounted by one candleholder, and flanked with a pair of satyr marks; all set on a socle with four rams’ heads and blue crossed swords marks for Meissen, with light green ground and further gilt highlights throughout; inscribed to the underside “Ausschliefslich angefertigt fur P. Litchfield in London” (Made exclusively for S. Litchfield in London) and dated 1876.
