Object of the Week – Tudor Carved Chest

A rare Henry VIII carved oak chest, the front with three panels, the outer panels carved with oak leaf and acorn decoration flanking the central portrait panel, with lock plate above.

Provenance: The Metropolitan Museum, New York; previously the
