Object of the Week – Persian Qajar Period Engraved Brass Astrolabe

H: 16cm   D: 9cm


This charming antique astrolabe which include the mater, the rete, four plates, and three brass pieces. The mater is designed with lobed palmettes that are embellished with Arabic inscriptions, while the plates engraved with stereo-graphic projections and further Arabic inscriptions.
