Object of the Week – Set Of Four Queen Anne Walnut Dining Chairs

H: 98cm  W: 59cm  D: 46cm

A rare set of four Queen Anne walnut dining chairs in walnut and walnut veneer with bended back and a finely carved scallop shell in the curved front rail. The in-curved crest rail is surmounted by a small scroll and shaped top rail. The chairs have a solid shaped splat and fine needlepoint on all the shaped drop in pads. The back legs are slightly outswept and the front legs sweep down to a simple pad foot.

Accompanying the set is an original condition report dated 1938 and a receipt from dealers H. M. Lee & Sons, Kingston on Thames.
