A fine and impressive vintage 1950’s synthetic ruby and 0.10 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold pendant by Guy Laroche; part of our diverse ruby jewellery collections.
This fine and impressive 1950s ruby pendant has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.
The pierced decorated frame is ornamented with eight baguette cut synthetic rubies, channel set to the centre of the swept design.
The pendant design incorporates an 18 carat white gold cuff enveloping the anterior and posterior splays, embellished with five individually four claw set modern brilliant round cut diamonds.
The pendant suspends from a hallmarked 18ct yellow gold 16″ snake chain via the upper border of the design.
The chain secures with a conventional spring loaded lobster clasp.
The side of this impressive pendant is signed ‘Guy Laroche’*.
This vintage gold and ruby pendant is hallmarked to the reverse with the French mark for 18ct gold (eagle’s head, 750) and maker’s mark containing the letters ‘CD’, the chain is also hallmarked to the clasp with the 750 and the maker’s mark.
The pendant is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
* Guy Laroche was a reputable French fashion designer who founded his own workshop 1956, in Paris, France – launching his eponymous couture label. Known for his use of vibrant colours he produced not only high-fashion pieces, but also practical clothing for his female clients. Later in his career he developed a range of women’s fragrances and progressed to making men’s clothes.
