Object Description

An important 17th century oak coffer, the frieze and arcaded front panels wonderfully carved with birds,the sunken three panelled lid inlaid with walnut and holly banded diamondsThe bottom frieze and sides having inlaid decoration.The coffer also has carved panels on the ends.English Circa 1650.
The top rail bears the initials SB.

Object Condition

Fine condition and colour,the coffer has most interesting carving and lovely inlaid decoration.
