Object Description
An Attractive George III Period Mahogany Octagonal
Tea Caddy With Original Inlaid And Crossbanded
Decoration
(Tea was of course a precious commodity in the 18th century and
tea caddies were used to both preserve the tea leaves,
but also to lock it away and protect it from any wandering
hands. This particular example is very attractive and the fact
it is octagonal gives it a little extra elegance. Another nice touch
is the original inlay decoration. It also comes supplied with
a fully functioning key.)
