These antique dancing figures, masterfully cast in silvered bronze, depict two females and a putto in the classical, allegorical style by J-L. Gregoire (French, 1840-1900), an École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, trained sculptor. The figures, standing full-length on a naturalistic circular base, exhibit classical elegance in their flowing dresses, upbound hair, and the cherubic innocence of the putto.
Signed ‘L. Gregoire’ on the base, with foundry ‘Bernoux. E=Ax’ and numbered ‘2467.’
