Object Description
19th Century Dutch satinwood ebonised harewood and chequer inlaid secretaire cabinet. The cabinet has a decorative fretwork top with chequered box inlay to the edge with an oval panel of ebonised floral inlay to the centre and two round panels to either side corner, below this two cupboard doors edged with boxwood inlay with an oval ebonised floral panel to the centre of each, when opened reveals two shelves, below the top the cabinet has four oak lined long drawers all with brass handles. The top draw is a secretaire which when opened reveals a centre tambour sliding door with key and arched pigeon holes and two small drawers either side with a tan gold tooled leather writing surface. There is also a secret pull out compartment with a faux book front. The cabinet stands on small diamond ebonised shaped feet.
