Object Description
A late 19th century (circa 1880) English rosewood freestanding bijouterie table of large proportions in the French style.
This highly decorative table consists of a shaped top with original bevelled glass (with some scratches) with decorative ormolu moulding and shaped ormolu moulding framing the top.
The top opens to reveal the interior having two removable inserts, one in a neutral velvet fabric and also a raised insert with a red velvet fabric – these could be changed to a fabric of choice.
Each of the front, back and side glass panels is framed with the same decorative ormolu moulding, the rails all shaped having a decorative foliate ormolu mount to the top of each leg, the four tapering cabriole legs all terminating with decorative ormolu sabots.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
