Object Description

This rare antique Persian Rug features a traditional geometric motif design through the centre including colours of orange, beige and red. This is then enclosed by a highly detailed, layered, repeat pattern border. With this fantastic antique runner rug is perfect for use as an entranceway runner, kitchen runner or hallway runner rug. Suitable for both modern and traditional home interiors. This piece is in beautiful condition with a fine wool pile and colours that look as though they were dyed yesterday.

Object History

This fine Caucasian runner rug was handwoven in Azerbaijan circa 1880. Constructed with the finest hand-spun wool and cotton foundation. Azerbaijan is a country bordering Armenia and the Caspian Sea, developed under the influence of Iranian, Turkic and Caucasian heritage as well as Russian influences due to its former status as a Soviet republic.
