Object Description

A particularly fine and rare early 19th. Century Rosewood Viennese Regulator Clock with serpentine top, carved details to the canted corners, brass mouldings and carved sub-base, the enamelled dial signed Adolf Hradetzkn in Brunn and with an Ormolu Dial Bezel and blued steel hands, the movement of 90 days duration.

Circa 1840

H: 54”, 137 cms, W: 17”, 43 cms, D: 7.75”, 19.5 cms.

Object History

_Brunn later became part of Czechoslovakia after 1918 and resorted back to its earlier name,Brno. Over many centuries this city has been fought over and has been an integral part of several historic empires. The name of Hradetzkn is known in this area as an old established family of organ builders and the suggestion is that this was part of the same family_
