An early 19th century Sheffield plate wine or champagne cooler.
The cooler has swept reed handles and is embossed with vines and grapes.
The rim of the cooler has a gadrooned edge with vine leaves and grapes and the lower body has acanthus leaves and flowers.
The inner rim of the cooler lifts out as does the bottle holder to allow the space to be filled with crushed ice.
The cooler is in good condition with some very minor marks to the plate and the foot rim has a few dents. The cooler has no maker’s markings. (Circa 1840)
