* A hessonite garnet has gained the nickname ‘cinnamon stone’ due to its classic orange-brown colouring; however the colouring can range from honey-yellow to brown-red. This gemstone holds historical importance as it used within Vedic astrology, where wearers believe hessonite can bring success and recognition in society, in addition to promoting longevity and good fortune.
** Kobrin Brothers is a fine Manhattan based jewellery firm that closed in 1971. The Latvian born owner, Leo Kobrin, arrived in the United States in 1908 and served in the Navy in World War I.
