Victorian Pinchbeck muff chain with with fob catch. 169 cm in length. Pinchbeck is a form of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc. Christopher Pinchbeck, an C18th London clockmaker found that when copper and zinc were mixed in certain proportions it resembled gold in appearance. It became very popular with jewellery manufacturers in the late C18th and C19th. Attached a Victorian Fob watch Circa 1890 in working order..
