A Dutch Very Decorative and Useful Mahogany and Brass Jardinière. Circa 1850-1870.
With beautiful coopered food stand and original brass liner.
This jardinière is originally a Dutch tea stove with on the inside a lose charcoal burner and with hot water kettle.
Used in the drawing room by the lady of the house to make tea in the porcelain teapot.
The liner with small repair and the two mahogany vertical strips also with a small restoration, these small restorations have to do with a later gas burner, what was circa around 1900 commonly used in The Netherlands. (see image)
In very good condition with nice old original patination.
