Object Description

A lovely example of Kate Harris work for William Hutton & Sons. This form of bowl appears in a number of Kate Harris styles and this one uses her renowned ivy pattern. This design was registered by Huttons, with number R352424 on 25th January 1900. A variant on this bowl can be found in the Victoria & Albert Museum silver room, case 16, reference CIRC 156-1965.
As can be seen in the contemporary image reproduced from the German publication “Der Modern Stil” in “other images”, a bowl identical to this was displayed at the Paris Exhibition, 1900.
The glass is hand blown and a good Powell colour but I do not think original. Silver condition overall is excellent.
