A superb and rare 19th century Meissen porcelain group of the Tsarina, Empress Elisabeth Petrovna on horseback with her attenant to her side, wearing her green riding habit. Elisabeth (born 1709, died 1762) was from the House of Romanov, her father Peter the Great, her mother Catherine I. Elisabeth spoke several languages , was a keen horse rider and a popular Russian monarch. A painting of Elisabeth on horseback is attributed to the German artist Georg Christoph
