Object Description

The 8-day movement having a brass engraved arch dial in a mahogany case decorated with inlay. The hood with swan-neck pediment also with inlaid decoration, brass capped Corinthian columns and original finial

Object Literature

During the 18th century Falkirk was a highly renowned centre of clock-making. Clock historian Brian Loomes refers to James Hendrie to making clocks in Falkirk between 1739 and circa 1750
