Object Description

A late 18th century Sheraton period mahogany pembroke / games table of rare design, the beautifully figured and matched solid mahogany top of rich colour above two end drawers, one containing fitted compartments for gaming pieces and the other fitted with its original tooled and dyed leather backgammon board which when reversed reveals a beautifully inlaid chess board flanked by two cribbage boards. Both carcass and drawer linings are also in solid mahogany and the whole is raised on square tapering legs terminating in original box castors. All brassware is original.
