Object Description

Object History

Object Literature

Craquelured to perfection, an uncontrived masterpiece of the timeworn.

Object Condition

The drawers glide smoothly, the whole proves sturdy and in good original order. The paintwork is extraordinary. The chest has probably sat in a room close to the fireplace and as such the craquelure present is wonderfully redolent and proves consistent to each sides though with more surface wear from the human touch to the top. The peg bun feet are all original though have some losses to their tips from where the chest has been moved around. We have waxed her to retain the current patina and finish. The original backboards are in place.
