Object Description
Lacquered frames with cloth borders, all original, with plain backs. They are constructed with paper over the frame, the paper is then gilded, and then the scenes painted over the gilding. Can be floor standing or wall-mounted.
It is very rare for a pair of screens to survive, and in original condition, as these are. They depict idyllic scenes of village life, quite an unusual subject.
