Object Description
A very large and imposing Meiji period silvered bronze eagle, shown crouched on a rootwood base with the wings raised in the head ducked down and turned slightly to the left, the eyes and talons worked with shakudo and gilt details. Signed on a tablet Gyokku. Japanese, c1880.
