This stunning and expansive dinner service by the Meissen porcelain manufactory consists of a vast range of objects, all beautifully decorated, painted, and gilt. In beautiful white porcelain, gilt around the rims, and painted by wonderful depictions of various birds, domestic, exotic, wild fowl, etc., this set forms one of the finest collections of Meissen porcelain, especially porcelain dinnerware. The birds, all exceptionally painted, sit perched on branches and in naturalistic settings. Insects are often seem towards the borders. The underglaze blue crossed-swords mark is evident on all, and there are various impressed and incised numerals. The collection includes:

A large number of dinner plates; a number of medium sized plates, and a similar number of side plates and bowls. There are also large, scallop-rimmed dishes of square form, larger and smaller, and a large bowl of square section form. There are also oval tureens with covers and on integrated stands, and a number of serving platters, dishes, and comport stands.
