This watch was issued to Pilots and Navigators of the German Luftwaffe during World War 2. The large 55mm circular watch was worn with an elongated leather strap, large enough to fit over the flying suit. The design was given the Air Ministry (Reichsluftfahrtministerim, abbreviated to RLM) classification number FL 23883.
The watch is in mint condition, still bearing the approval date, printed in red on the outside of the case, confirming that the watch meets the exacting quality standards of the Air Ministry.
Supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity from the German Watch Museum in Glashütte (“Deutsches Uhrenmuseum, Glashütte as well as a copy of the delivery note from Lange & Söhne to the Minister of the Airforce in Berlin (“Reichsminister der Luftfahrt und Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe / Berlin (Herman Göring).
