Object Description

A fine Alexander the Great silver drachm pendant featuring a drachm coin set in a modern 18ct gold frame, with a loop attached for suspension. The frame displays a London hallmark. The coins’ obverse features the profile head of Alexander wearing the skin of the Nemean lion, facing right; the reverse displays the god, Zeus, enthroned on the left, holding an eagle in his right hand and a sceptre in his left; the legend, AΛEΞANΔPOΣ, is on the right.
