Object Description
A lovely Antique silver George III chamberstick which still retains its steel wick trimmers. It has a gadroon border and is engraved with a nice period family crest. It is made in London in 1817 by John Mewburn and is in good condition with a lovely weight. The additional steel wick trimmers are quite rare as they are often either missing or get thrown away. In the middle years of the nineteenth century the wick trimmer became unnecessary as the new style candles did not need to be trimmed. Dimensions 16.5×9.4cms, Weight, 13troy oz.
