Object Description

An Egyptian amulet made from a vivid red faience, rippled with subtle black faience, designed in the shape of a fish. Incised, diamond decoration has been added to represent the scales of the fish. Two angular fins have been placed at the top and bottom of the body and a large tail protrudes from the back. The reverse has been left undecorated.

Date: Circa 1550 – 1070 BC
Period: New Kingdom Period

Object History

Property of a South West London gentleman; acquired by his father in the 1970s; by descent 1986.

Very good. Some encrustation and chip to top and bottom corner
