An Italian Pietra Dura Top Occasional Table
Constructed in carved gilt wood, having an unusual pietra dura inlaid rectangular platform; the table’s legs terminating in scrolls, with a baluster form carved and fluted stem. The marble panel housed within a black marble border; of idiosyncratic intarsia technique. Rare marbles included are imperial purple porphyry, porfido verde serpentino, rouge de Languedoc, Carrara, sarrancolin, green cipollino, and a stratified onyx.
