Object Description

For sale is this superb silver gilt, pearl, amethyst and green chrysoberyl necklace by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin. The necklace was exhibited at the Court Barn Museum exhibition on the Gaskins in 2013, exhibit J13, and this catalogue entry giving full provenance can be found at this link. The necklace is in excellent original condition. As is typical of much of the Gaskin’s jewellery it is unmarked. This necklace was commissioned by James Henry Sellers (architect and designer) and this exact necklace appeared in the Studio Magazine Vol 44, 1908, P 61 – see images, where it was being exhibited at the New Gallery. The Studio notes that this necklace was [solely] designed and executed by Georgie.
