Object Description
A beautiful Egyptian restrung necklace made of Amarna period faience beads in alternating shapes and colours. Two parallel rows of dark turquoise short tubular beads are regularly interspersed with wide, flat beads, with two perforations, allowing the rows to be connected. Towards the centre, the two rows merge to one and display long cylindrical turquoise faience beads, which increase in size. Each terminates with a cream, yellow or red flattened disc shaped bead topped with a smaller circular red bead. The necklace has been finished with a modern gold-plated S-shaped clasp.
