Object Description
This antique caucasian design runner rug was woven by hand in the 1880s in Azerbaijan. It features an all-over central design with repeat motifs on a red field. The border that encloses the design has been intricately woven with repeat pattern motifs on blue and ivory backgrounds. This fantastic antique runner rug is perfect for use as an entranceway runner, kitchen runner or hallway runner rug.
Suitable for both modern and traditional home interiors. This carpet runner rug is in beautiful condition with a fine wool pile and colours that look as though they were dyed yesterday.
Constructed by hand on looms by master weavers of Azerbaijan with fine, hand-spun wool which was dyed with organic vegetable dyeing techniques that have been used for generations.
