Object Description

A good quality steel, having a carved wooden handle inlaid with bone decoration with a brass hinged suspension ring. The steel stamped J. Haywood company Sheffield.

Joseph Haywood was born on the 14th. February 1823 and died on the 31st. of May 1888 and manufactured table cutlery etc. in Glamorgan Works, Sheffield. It was a family business listed from 1845 till 1936.
