This runner is one of the rare examples of camel hair weavings in a large room size format. Woven in Persia, circa 1880, this rug contains both camel hair and sheep wool, which gives the rug its aged appearance. The combination of different wools adds to the uniqueness and beautiful nature of the carpet. The design is unusually sophisticated.
