Object Description
This is a very capacious and comfortable antique armchair that could be used as a desk chair.
It is made from the best quality mahogany and is traditionally referred to as a ‘squires chair’.
The chair is designed in the George 11 style of the mid 18th century with very nice carved decoration to the shaped back, arms and cabriolet legs.
The carving is of very good quality, very detailed and typical of the best quality furniture from the mid 18th century.
This large antique chair has been professionally cleaned and polished, has a padded drop in seat covered in a gold tapestry fabric with a pomegranate design.
The chair is in excellent condition, the frame is sound with no breaks, old repairs or weakness at all.
