Object Description
An early pair of solid silver candlesticks with baluster columns and spreading bases with sunken wells. This style is typical of early 18th century English candlesticks. Excellent colour. Each has a hand engraved initial “R” to the top of the base and a contemporary inscription below.
Total weight 338 grams, 10.8 troy oz.
Height 16cm. Diameter of base 11.1cm.

Marks. Both stamped with continental silver marks underneath, possibly Swiss. The inscriptions “FMW A 1726 Jr 16 Feb” below the bases are contemporary.
