The casket for this fine, cut glass and gilt liquor set is crafted in birdseye maple wood on a rectangular plan. The top and the front are inlaid to each of the corners with mother of pearl, and each bordered by rosewood and mother of pearl helix marquetry design. A frieze bearing the same design as these borders runs across the base of the front of the casket. Each of the other sides features birdseye maple panels with simple ebonised borders, all set on four wooden feet.
When unlocked, the front, sides and top of the case fold outwards to reveal an interior stand of gilt bronze, which is crafted to hold the liquor set. The set comprises four bottles and thirteen of the sixteen original drinking glasses. The bottles are arranged to the centre. The sixteen glasses are arranged to either side of the bottles across two rows, where the bottom rows contain eight tumblers and the top row contains eight stemmed glassed. The bottles and glasses are all of cut glass, each similarly decorated with gilded foliate decorations.
