Object Description

An early 19th century bell metal hand bell, having a well turned lignum vitae handle in heart and sap wood, with reeded decoration terminating in a brass collar. The bell is of circular form, with a rounded top edge and stepped foot and has an iron clapper in the traditional manner. Previously used by the town crier of Winchcombe, Gloucestershire.
