Object Description
Antique early Victorian Carrara marble fire surround in the English rococo manner. Carved shell capitals sit above scrolled acanthus leaves to the capitals which are echoed on the plinths. A large clam shell adorns the frieze with further scroll work below a substantial serpentine shelf. Because of the shapely shelf the maximum width is 68″wide the minimum width at the back of the shelf is 65″wide.
