A beautiful Edwardian moonstone and diamond brooch c.1910, the long stick pin style brooch set to the top with a finely carved oval moonstone featuring a female bust in profile facing right, set into a navette shaped platinum surround with pierced scroll work to the top and bottom set throughout with old-cut diamonds in millegrian settings, above a long narrow tapering stem, the platinum backed with gold and the sides of the brooch pierced and carved with scroll motifs, to a single pin fitting. This elegant brooch has been beautifully made with careful attention to detail in the gemstone carving, the setting and the delicate carving of the gold along the sides. The moonstone has a lovely soft bluish glow which moves across the stone as it is turned in the light. A very pretty jewel that speaks of its time.
