Description:
This is an impressive and stunning quality Art Deco drinks cabinet, with a skyscraper design, constructed from figured walnut and maple, circa 1935, of European origin, in excellent original condition. It is rare to come across cocktail cabinets of this quality – this is the first of this design we have come across and we have seen a lot of Art Deco cabinets in our time! The exterior of the Art Deco drinks cabinet is decorated with stunning figured walnut veneers, incorporating banding around each section. The Art Deco drinks cabinet boasts a classic “skyscraper” design, consisting of three separate sections. The top section consists of a glass fronted cabinet, with shelves. The glass doors slide from left to right, in order to access this compartment – ideal for storing glasses. The middle section, which is lined in maple, comprises a hinged door, containing shelves and dividers, that opens vertically, to create sufficient table space to pour and mix drinks. The middle section is flanked by two cupboards, which feature adjustable shelves, all of which is lined with decorative maple. The middle section doors retain the original escutcheon, working lock and original key. All doors retain their original “ball” brass hinges and door knobs, which are in excellent working order. The middle sections rests on “prong shape” base. The base rests on a cloud shaped moulded step plinth. The cabinet splits into three sections for ease of movement and access into the house.

The Art Deco drinks cabinet boasts a classic figured walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This Art Deco drinks cabinet would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway to the living room or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

Provenance:
We believe this Art Deco drinks cabinet is of European origin, possibly German or English, because of the design and style of the door hinges.
