This is a beautiful antique French kingwood and ormolu mounted display cabinet in the French Louis Revival manner, circa 1850 in date.
This beautiful cabinet has an abundance of exquisite ormolu mounts.
The pair of glazed doors enclose an interior which has been relined in a beautiful Royal Purple velvet fabric, there are three shelves and it stands on elegant slender cabriole legs.
The brass lock plate on the interior of the door bears the engraved inscription of the renowned Paris cabinetcaninetmakers:
“Ternisien & Dantant, Rue Vendome, Paris”

Some items are signed Ternisien et Dantant, others are stamped Ternisien et Dantant, later items are just signed E.Dantant.
