Object Description
This is an antique French Vernis Martin rosewood and kingwood bombe shaped secretaire cabinet dating from around 1880.
The fall front of this antique secretaire is decorated with a vignette of a courting couple set within an extravagant ormolu border.
The front opens to reveal a beautiful satinwood interior including three drawers together with an open cupboard and a very attractive black leather gold-tooled writing surface.
The secretaire also features a beautifully shaped marble top and has houses three full width drawers to provide plenty of spacious storage capacity.
The sides of the secretaire cabinet have delicate and attractive parquetry decoration.
The chest stands on truly elegant splayed legs, each terminating with gilded ormolu sabots.
Condition:
This French Antique secretaire chest is in excellent condition and has been expertly restored in our own workshops by our own craftsmen.
