Object Description

An Antique George IV Sterling silver soup tureen which is rectangular shape in design with a plain body, a removable lid with an attractive handle depicting shells and fruit and resting on four ornate feet. The gadroon decoration around the body and lid help to complete the overall style of this well made tureen. The handle can be removed so that the lid can be used as a serving dish if so desired. This practical silver tureen would be perfect to use for entertaining and would look eye catching on the table. It weighs 150 troy ounces in total.

It was hallmarked in London for 1821 by Benjamin Smith.
