This fabulous quality antique George III desk or partners library table, is made from beautifully figured mahogany timbers.
It has it’s original deep salmon pink writing leather which is rare to find on a Georgian Desk.
This is an exceptionally rare desk being in such good condition and such a large size.
The writing surface has numerous marks from its 200 years of use and is testament to the age of the desk. But if you would prefer a new writing leather of any colour we can fit this for you. The leather is decorated with gilt and blind tooling and is surrounded by a cross band of mahogany with a reeded edge.
The table stands on well carved end supports, with scrolling brackets and original finely cast brass terminals (in a leaf design) and brass castors.
The table has three drawers to either side with beautifully figured mahogany fronts edged with cock beading.
They have circular brass handles (old replacements), brass escutcheons and are oak lined with hand cut dovetail joints.
This fabulous antique Georgian Desk would make a stunning free standing desk or library table or even an occasional table for a very large room.
