Object Description

A beautiful large Japanese patinated bronze study of a crouching tiger, signed on the belly, Genryusai Seiya, Meiji period, 1868-1911 in date.

The finely cast sculpture shows a striding figure with its head raised and mouth open to reveal long fangs, with the stripes on its body delineated in subtly-toned patination, the cartouche on the underside signed and raised on a decorative rustic wooden stand.

Add this serious Japanese style icon to your home with this lovely bronze.
