This charming Limoges enamel plaque, held by an elaborate gilt metal and velvet frame, depicts a scene in the 18th Century manner of two elegant ladies approached by a would-be suitor. The painterly style is fine and expressive, while the colours are typical of the 18th Century Rococo. The plaque is signed lower right ‘Dorval’.
