Object Description
A good quality antique partners library table or desk constructed from well-figured mahogany timbers.
It has recently been restored and has a replacement black hide writing leather with gilt and blind tooling which is surrounded by
a cross band of figured mahogany and has rounded corners with a thumb-moulded edge..
Each side of the width is fitted with three mahogany lined drawers.
All drawers have hand cut dovetails, brass locks, ogee mouldings to the front edges and turned wooden knobs.
The table stands on four boldly turned and reeded legs terminating in the original brass cup castors stamped I .W. LEWTY’s PATENT below a crown.
This well proportioned large antique partners library table or desk is in good antique condition with minor knocks and bumps commensurate with its age and use.
It would make a very impressive desk in any large office, library or study.
