Object Description

This freestanding antique oak open bookcase was made in the Gothic Revival Style
of the mid-19th Century in the manner associated with A. N. W. Pugin.
The shaped sides show the exposed tenons of the top and bottom shelves
and at the front lower edge have a trefoil cut from the timber.
There are four deep open shelves with a fret cut gallery to the top shelf.
The bookcase has an open back with cut-outs at the base to enable it to fit around deep skirting boards
and sit snuggly against the wall.
This stylish antique bookcase is made from well figured oak and would fit beautifully in
a traditional Edwardian or Contemporary setting.
